…that 34% of people in the UK bypass breakfast even though we all agree it is the most important meal of the day.
It seems that a lot of us just cannot face food at that time of the morning, whilst some of us are just in too much of a rush to spend more than 3 or 4 minutes on breakfast. Perhaps we feel there are more pressing things to do than eat breakfast. In fact, we Brits are more likely to skip breakfast that many Europeans.
Many of us commute to work so it’s up, dressed and out the door and even if we do grab a bite we certainly don’t sit down to enjoy the meal; too busy getting ready. Not really a leisurely meal to wake up to – more like stress and pressed for time.
The trouble is if we don’t have something for breakfast then the body finds it more difficult to get going and maintaining high levels of activity – why? No or insufficient fuel. There is a lot to be said for eating breakfast – the health benefits are numerous including being more alert and energetic, especially of your breakfast is not sugary or purely carbs. Studies show that breakfast high in protein help the body to create a longer lasting energy that can really set you up for the day.
So what can you do?
